Initial Consultation
Our first meeting is free of charge, where we discuss what you wish to have in your garden, how you are going to use the space, what style you would like to have and the budget you are working with together with the features required such as a pergola, pond, water feature, patio, lighting, etc. After our meeting, I will prepare your Client Brief and Quotation, which will then be sent to you. We work with budgets and gardens of all sizes, from tiny courtyards to country estates, and all fees and costs are agreed in advance of work commencing so that you remain in control at all times. Once you are happy with the documentation and engaging me to design your garden, l will then make another appointment to visit your garden to carry out a survey.
Survey, Site and Soil Analysis

A survey and site analysis of your garden is carried out together with noting in detail with photographs of the plants and structures that are to be retained. A soil sample is taken to ascertain your garden’s soil characteristics such as its pH and whether it is sandy, clay, or loam. An outline design can then be then drawn up.

Outline Garden Design

The outline design is drawn up and presented to you at our next meeting for discussion and review where amendments and tweaks can be implemented together with anything else you wish to add.

Detailed Final Design

A fully designed and highly detailed, coloured garden design with measurements and hard landscaping information is presented. A storyboard to help you visualise how your finished garden will look is also presented. At this point, a date is agreed for work to commence with the landscaper.

Planting Plan Design

From the Final Design, a planting plan is designed based on your preferences, vision, suitability, and colour, taking into consideration planting combinations, all year round interest and structure. A plant schedule and plan showing the layout of the plants are presented. A list of plants and sizes is drawn up for the nursery that will supply the plants on site.

Construction Drawings

If required technical drawings are produced to assist the landscapers to construct the garden in accordance with the design.

Tender Process

I have a team of landscapers who work directly with our clients. I will manage the issuing of the plans and documentation required to the landscape contractors so that they can accurately quote for the construction of your garden.

Project Management

I will personally project manage the build of your garden, organise the tender process, liaise on dates to commence work, and visit the site on a regular basis until the project is completed. In addition, I will liaise with other tradesmen for example, electricians if lighting in the garden is required together with any other professional services required. The nursery is advised once planting can commence, plant deliveries are overseen and plants are placed and planted up in borders in accordance with the planting plan.
